1987 Force 125. Starts right up and idles smooth around 1000 rpms. Runs a tad bit rough between 1500 to 3000 rpms. Its not missing, but just not smooth. But at 3000 rpms and above runs perfectly smooth and fast, like a fine tuned watch.

Cleaned out both carbs and installed new needle and seat on the top carb. The fuel bulb pumps up nice and hard so I know the seats are working properly.

The idle adjustment screws are set at about 1 1/4 turns counter clockwise.

What else can I do to make it run smoother or is this just how these motors run? I can tell it is happier running at higher rpms.

I can answer this now myself. Out in Morro Bay today I fine tuned the idle screws. The thing runs perfectly with the screws set at no more than 1 turn counterclockwise from seated. The manual says no less than 1 1/4 turn for lean setting and then work counterclockwise from there. Well whatever, this motor cant read and wants to run lean so I am going to let it.

So now after 2 months of searching for parts, rebuilding carbs, replacing drive shaft seal, impeller, burned ground wires, getting towed in once, this 1987 Force 125 is alive again.

Couldn't have done it without the help of this forum. Thank you to those that helped out. You know who you are.
