First off thank you to everyone who has helped me with this haunted engine I have, being the mercruiser 470....I took it out yesterday and ran dons fuel test, unfortunately the test was all perfect, more so the boat didnt act up as quickly as normal so I never got to test it while the bogging and loss of rpms occured. Wife threatened to blow the boat up before I left becuase Ive been spending more time with it than her in last 2 weeks since I purchased it, so I kept the outing short....I tinkered with it for awhile today basically doing a "wiggle" test ( another one of dons great ideas) and I found that on the back of the breather for the carb, theres a metal tube coming off of it, the flame arrestor I believe, could easily be wrong, any ways its snapped from the mount on the breather!.......My temp gauge never goes over 150 but could this be causing the bogging after the motor is totaly warmed up cuz like Ive said before...IT NEVER HAPPENS, NEVER until after boating and tubing for a hour or so...up until that point the boat will run 4500 rpms (although I cruise at around 3,800) just fine and starts just fine etc. the next time I take it out....thanx guys, and do i have a water/fuel sereator and where?

p.s. Haut Medoc comment about buying a 30 year old boat would hurt more than a self inflicted gun shot wound to another member was right on the money...i only payed $670 bucks though

Then you didn't get to test it when you had a problem, only when it worked. That was a non test and proved nothing.

Yes a plugged up flame arrestor could cause the problem. Remember the list I posted for low rpm.

FREE boats, are way overpriced.

Tune up was last done when?
Filters were last changed when?
It matters.
