flappers???

After taking my manifolds and risers off of my merc 4.3, I noticed that my left flapper is completly gone. I haven't gone down the Y pipe yet, Is it more than likely that it is at the bottom of the Y pipe and not in the?????

they usally wind up in the area of the bellows, pull the unit and you will probably find it here

I've seen them make it as far as the bearing carrier before but the exuast bellows is the most likely spot
