Flex plate and Fly wheel

Just pondering why you couldnt run a flex plate instead of a flywheel? You would think doing so would get your reves up a little quicker less weight and all.. im sure theres a reason for it just wondering why.

Ayuh,.... Without the mass of a flywheel, it'll just stall when put into gear,....

With a Jet-drive, ya might get away with it, as the impeller is always turnin',.....
