The factory manual is by far the best bet when looking for a manual.
They sell aftermarket one that cover a bunch of different models.
It doesn't give enough specific info for each model.

The best place is buy from Mercury or look on e-bay.

The float level: carb upside down, the float should be level.
Drop: it should almost touch the center post.

There were 2 different needle/ seats.
Most had the needle with the rubber tip.
Some had a needle with a solid tip and a rubber seal in the seat.
Make sure the rubber tip isn't deformed.

The rubber in the seat it can swell when some cleaners or soaks are used.
If that happens?? wash in Dawn detergent and rinse with cold water and let it dry.
It can take 1-2 days for the swelling to go away.

One trick: to re-use the seal, spray the bowl seal with WD-40 before removing the bowl and it will soften after a couple of days.

Carlos, TODAY you might only want the float height, but on a 1985 motor, eventually you are goimg to NEED a service manual and should buy 1.

That manual is copyrighted, so it isnt permitted to post an image from the manual

Jerry knew that, and suggested buying the manual, then described what to do to adjust the float and the drop.

You can probably find a reference manual listed here, possibly w a pix

I sometimes give WAY more info than was needed.
Just take what you need and disregard the rest. :)
