I believe it is around a 1990 model 225 Gamefisher 15 hp. Unfortunately the info on the plate are unreadable know. I replaced the BMI coils and had it running good in the tank, when I put it on the boat, it's a 14'x69" Jon boat, it would not hit high RPM in gear. By the GPS on my phone it would only do 5 MPH. was thinkking maybe the float level was incorrect but it is set pretty level when inverted. Any other ideas?

Do you know if you have spark at both cylinders?
Sound like it is runing on only one cylinder.

BTW there is a stop at the timing plate not allow you to run at full throttle if you are in neutral.
Is it runing in gaer or neutral in the video?

Check the spark both cyl.(Nordin)
Reset the air screw, start at 1 1/2 turn out from lightly seated.
Then as it idles, spray starting fluid everywhere but the throat of the carb.
If that makes any difference?? there's an air leak somewhere?

Does it spit fuel from the front of the carb? Reeds

Nordin, good call on not running on both cylinders. I put the spark tester on them and the bottom cylinder is not sparking. Time to figure out why. I replaced both BMI's about 3 month ago with new ones from Standard Magneto. And in the video it was running in gear.

jerryjerry05, I have the air screw set at 1 1/2 turns out and couldnt find any air leaks and no fuel coming from the front of the carb unless I over-prime it.

First thing I need to do is figure out why the bottom cylinder stopped firing. Hmmmmmm......

So I swapped the coils to make sure the problem followed the coils and maybe it was just the lighting, I doubt it though, and one coil made the spark tester glow bright, the other coil had a very dim light in the spark tester. Weak coil?

You have points ignition or just the coil packs?

They used 3-4 different ignition systems on the 15.

Bad connection or bad coil pack.
Even brand new can be bad:(

Try swapping them around?
See if the weak spark follows?

I did. I think one coil had suck a weak spark on the tester I couldn't see it on the first test. By the time I took it apart, swaped them and put it back together the sun had dropped behind the house. And thats when I noticed it sparked but really weak. Sounds like coil is bad to me. Waiting to hear back from Standard Magneto, I'm sure they wont warranty it and it doesnt look like they have any more available anyway. Guess im going to have to wait until I can splurg the extra for the CDI kit. I appreciate all of the help
