I've got an 886 Mercruiser with a Ford 302. I adjusted the float in the 2bbl carb a little higher. Now the motor runs until it gets warmed up and cuts off. It will crank later. I have not tried to put it in gear, I'm afraid I'll be paddling. Does the same with a garden hose to lower unit when on trailer. I was taking a suggestion to help overcome a bogging down problem when I would get around 3500rpm while in gear. I'm not blaming the suggestion, just trying to explain why I tried to adjust the carb in the first place. Does it sound like my problem is where I bent the float upward ? Being an old boat sometimes I'm not sure if things are always related. Help, thanks.
