Hi All !
I have a 26' Formula boat that has a small cracks on the floor. I noticed that some of those cracks are spreading even further. What could I do to make it look new again?
Is there a deck paint that could seal cracks?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about fiberglass but on metal you stop drill a crack. It prevents the crack from speading past the hole. Once you have all the cracks drilled you could take a grinder and making a very quick and not very deep cutwith the edge of the grinder along the cracks. Then go back through and fill in with epoxy. Sand and paint.
Might work might not, never tried it. Good luck though.

That’s pretty much how it is done. If the cracks are a result of a one-time incident (impact) not a problem. If it is a design flaw and they are cause by flexing, etc you should also fix the flaw or the cracks may return.

I use a Dremel with a tungsten bit (#9931) and follow the crack. The bit creates a groove just the right size/shape for accepting epoxy and the edges of the fiberglass will have a perfect tooth for the epoxy to adhere to.
