I came across a 1991 cobalt for sale that says it has a heated floor. I searched a bit and couldn't find any information on this. Is this a common option? How is it built into the floor?

A new one on me. The engine down in the bilge will put heat under the floor from the engine heat, but a heated floor maybe!!!!!

I saw a VIP ultimate or something for sale once, it said it had factory floor heating in it. could be useful on cold days i guess.

I got a heated in floor in my bathroom, but at my house. Sounds strange in a boat

Well, they use it to heat hot water so if someone had a little plumbing skill and access, it doesn't sound a stretch for someone to do it as a mod.

I've heard people do much crazier things in these forums.

Just sounds like another potential leak and ensuing wood rot. I'm in the middle of doing extensive repairs on my second boat, and from all the damage caused by water it's pretty obvious that water belongs on the outside of a boat.

Only twice in Suart Fl did we have ice on the bow & deck. Now in Seattle it might not be a bad idea.

If you got the where with all i guess you can put anything on a boat.

Re: floor heat?

If you boat/fish etc in colder weather they make a box with a radiator and fan that you can mount in your cuddy or where ever, it just gets plumbed into the return line, or if you have a built in hot water tank you can just extend the hoses. ( cool er hot EH )
