Re: Flooring

The plywood floor is probably rotten, or the carpet was not designed for marine use. The company should replace the floor and carpet at no charge to you. The people I know who own suntrackers have few complaints.

Re: Flooring

Do you keep the boat on the water over the season? Wake can toss pontoon boats around and water will make its was to the deck. The one complant suntracker owners do have is stuff being washed off there deck.

Re: Flooring

I've owned a 20' pontoon boat since 1996 and NEVER seen my carpet get wet from spray or waves through the floor. My floor is 3/4" pressure treated plywood. The sheets are just butted to each other but flexible caulking squeezes out of the seams and where they bolt to the aluminum cross members. It appears the whole floor was bedded in caulking. My guess is yours wasn't caulked during construction.

The only way I can see to fix this without a lot of work is to screw battens over the seams. Do it under the deck and caulk under the batten before screwing it down. Maybe your "liners" are just bolted to the cross frames and water can still get to the floor.

Yours being a new boat I'd demand it be repaired correctly and not by using a band aid fix like battens or "liners". The mfg probably goofed and doesn't want to eat the labor involved in correcting it the right way.
