At the suggestion of a fellow outboard boater, I bought several cans of spray "Fluid Film" to use on my boat trailer and anywhere else such as under the cowel of my 1985 carbed Yamaha 150 2- stroke. My boat is a saltwater rig, so any corrosion protection works for me. One that prevents corrosion and also lubricates seems to be the ticket. I think rodbolt also uses this stuff. Can I use this stuff to lube the carbs and carb linkages and spray it generally under the cowel??? Yamaha advises about 4 or 5 lubricants. Other than saltwater tolerant greases, can "Fluid Film" be used in place of some of the Yamaha brand lubricants?? I have sprayed WD 40 on linkages but is "Fluid Film" better??
