Fluid for Power Trim XD??

I am new to boating and trying to get an '88 Sleekcraft with a Mercruiser 350 w/ Alpha 1 out on the water. The boat has been out of the water for 3 to 5 years now and we noticed that the fluid in the reservoir for the Power Trim XD system was contaminated with water. Turns out the plastic reservoir is cracked. I have two questions:

• <br />
• Where can I get just the plastic reservoir? The Merc website indicates that you have to buy the whole pump at a cost of something like $800-$900. <br />
• What fluid do you use in the Power Trim XD system used with an '88 Alpha 1? I have heard several guesses today from ATF to lower unit gear oil. <br />

You can find a Res at ebay or NAPA...<br />Use ATF in it....
