Fluid question here -
I own a 97 sylvan open bow, 4.3L Merc
just bought it, end of last year - I don't think it was very well maintained.

My power steering fluid reservoir, as well as my trim pump reservoir - the fluid seems BAD, like dirty brown, almost black

When I grabbed a can of the trim fluid, it seemed more clear/white

i' could grab pictures later tonight -

Should I just extract all the liquid out of the resevoirs, and then refill them?

Since the fluids may be contaminated, it would be a better choice to go ahead and suck out the old and add new fluid in.
With this design trim system, the stern drive trim pump oil reservoir is at it's fullest while the drive is in the down position.

yea, that is what I was thinking, extract the liquid with my oil extractor and just refill them

Ayuh,... Probably not, but black is way better than milky chocolate brown,...
