has anyone ever seen a flushing adapter that will fit on the 28SPL? i was in texas last week fishing in corpus christi bay. when i was done i was flushing the motor in a cut off trash can with some sort of salt away stuff i bought at academy. this guy walks over and asks why i don't just use a flushing adapter on a hose like everyone else. i told him that that the 28SPL doesn't have the water pick up on the side of the lower unit like most thru hub exhaust motors do. he gives me the "what do you think i am dumb look" and says "i had one i used on my older motors that went over the pick up tube". he tried to explain to me how it hooked on to the motor. then he says he might still have one laying around in his garage. he comes back a few minutes later and said he couldn't find one but he had one to fit chrysler outboards in his hand. he then explains how the chryslers were sort of flipped over from the evinrudes but the principle of how it fit was the same. we talked as i finished flushing the motor and it turned out he was retired from 25yrs in the coast guard. i know that the 28SPL and the 25 commercial are the same lower unit and i am guessing the CG may have used the 25 commercial on some of their boats. i'm a freshwater guy from minnesota so maybe we don't have the same selection of flushing units up here that you salt water guys have around the ocean. so if anyone could point to a flushing adapter i would appreciate it.
