I have a mercruiser 350 mpi bravo 3 closed cooling system, in a crown line 270br. It has a flush line on the transom, and intake ports on the drive. It also has a inlet on the bottom of the hull. The owners manuals, both crownline and mercruiser are very vague on how to properly flush this system. I use it in salt water and want to flush after each use. I've seen a number of posts but none seem to apply to my situation. Any help out the there?

need pics of the hoses . if I understand correctly the flush line is for flushing the motor with it not running
with a dual pickup (thru hull and outdrive) water must be supplied to both so the raw water impeller dosent burn up
You should be equipped with a seacock and strainer. remove the hose that goes to the raw water pump and insert a garden hose there to run the motor
You could make up your own valving to flush and run the motor with a hose in the water

welcome aboard. is it a full system or a half system? generally factory closed systems on a B3 are full sytems. if so, your only flushing the heat exchangers which are designed to live in salt. The fact that you have both the Bravo leg picup and a sea strainer would let me believe that this is either an aftermarket system or someone added the thru-hull to compensate for posibly a plugged raw water passage in the Bravo transom shield

I'll take some pics today and post. The transom line runs to a tee fitting on the line that runs from the hull inlet and the main line has a clear canister with a spring loaded type of valve in it. As I said I'll get some photos today. Thanks
