Hi all, i have purchased a plstic engine flush adapter to rinse my engine out after use ( 115 efi 4 stroke mariner ) its the type that screws in to where the telltale spits out,ie back flushing but i have been told by a marine machanic that the water does not reach the water pump housing.
So i phoned ep barros and spoke to there tech services dept and they said the same, surely this would soon ruin the impeller coz it is in the housing, are they correct as i find it hard to believe that mercury would sell something that would damage it.
Or is it just to make you buy new ones every five minutes.

Re: flushing adapter

No, you just bought the wrong type the first time, the one you bought is commonly used with engines in salt water that are either left in the water or on a hoist of some type and not run justed flushed with a hose.
