Flushing Evinrude engine

Sorry, if this is in the wrong forum, but I can not post in the General FAQ forum.<br /><br />I have an Evinrude engine that has a water hose connector to flush the engine. I was told by someone that I did not have to start the engine to flush with this type of coonector. Is this correct...I do not have the owners manual for the engine.<br /><br />Regards,<br />Brian

brian,<br /><br />I believe that is true, you do not have to run the engine with that type of flushing unit. But someone with more experience might know better.
