You need a device called a 'harmonic balancer puller' avaliable at auto supply stores (I paid about $15 cdn for mine). You remove the manual pull start (if you have one) and then remove the three bolts that hold the 'gear' the pull start engages. The puller attaches to the three bolt holes (with long bolts) and has a long screw that pushes on the crankshaft. Sometimes it is necessary to tighten and then strike the screw to free the flywheel. You'll see what I mean.
Any form of puller that grabs the edges of the flywheel will probably destroy it.
When installing the flywheel you need to torque the bolt to 105 ft/lbs. Any less and the flywheel key will shear & throw your timing off. You'll need a strap wrench or something to hold the flywheel from turning while you do this.

Hope all this helps!

EDIT: oh, one more thing, the three bolts that screw into the flywheel are 1/4"-20's (Quarter inch-Twenty threads per inch). If your puller doesn't come with that size, you'll need to buy some.

May not apply to your motor, but if you're going to strike the puller centre bolt, make sure it doesn't have a point that can fit inside a recess on the crank end and spread it when hit. You can break the thread end off and maybe need a new crank if there's not enough thread left.

The harmonic balancer puller works well. If you have a friend that has an pneumatic air wrench, I heard that using that will get the nut off and will loosen the flywheel.

Absolutely do not use a puller that pulls on the outside of the flywheel or you will damage it.

If you do have to strike the crank, make sure you are careful not to damage anything. A good way to get the nut loose on the end of the crank is to put a box end wrench on the nut and hit the far end of the wrench with a hammer. It does a great job.

On other tip. Make sure the shaft of the crank is clean and has not grease or anything else on it before you reinstall the flywheel or it will go on too far and you will have trouble next time or even before. Good Luck
