Alright, what do you guys use for a flywheel holder when torquing the flywheel nut? Short of buying the one from Merc. at some outlandish price, ouch. The rope trick didn't work for me, so I was wondering what other setups people are using.
There are normally three threaded holes in the flywheel for attachment of a puller. Get a piece of flat steel and drill two holes spaced for two of the holes in the flywheel. Bolt the flat steel to the flywheel. There you have it. A 99 cent flywheel holder.
Laddies-
That's what I used to do, until the darn thing snapped off.

Upinsmoke-
Great idea, I have 5 or 6 thread holes in the flwheel which secures the inner hub of the flywheel. I will use two of them. Now I have to dig through the scraps in the yard to find that metal.

-thanks
andy
I use two eye bolts that fit snuggly into the holes in the flywheel... Just slip them in the holes (not too long to touch the stuff underneath) and then slip a piece of rod through both eyes to use as your holder....

Upinsmoke's idea is good also...
