I've posted about this motor before - last fall, during a storm, boat and motor sunk. It survived and I've had it started since. Since it was only running on one cylinder I decided to check ignition and change coils. Problem is, I tried to remove flywheel without a puller, with no success. Bought a puller, pulled flywheel and did what I intended to. But the initial attemt to pull flywheel seems to have damaged the threads on the crankshaft. It's minor damage on top thread, noting I can't fix. But I didn't notice until I was puting it all together, and now the threads on the flywheel nut is pretty much gone. So, I need a new nut. I've contacted several dealers and shops around here (sweden) but noone seems to be able to help.. Also been watching eBay with no luck. If anyone have any suggestions, or a nut to offer me, it would be much appreciated! According to brp parts list, any 68-79 6hp should fit? Would any other models fit, even though they don't share the same partnr?

I have' nt measured the thread but I would guess that to be about a 1/2-20 thread. A good reason not to try to knock the flywheel loose with a hammer. These are not lawn moyer engines'. You can buy a external thread die to clean up the thread's on the crank. Don't try to go all the way down with the treading die. It won't like that on a heat treated crank.
