flywheel stuck? I just snapped the puller trying to get it off. any ideas?

87' force 50.

that thing is siezed on there. i tried getting it off with a puller. all the bolts and everything are out. Should I put some heat on it? i've got some pb blaster on it hoping it'll help, but i dunno.

im gonna guess that the key is sheered off and jammed in there. otherwise, i'd expect it to pop off.

does it need a specific puller or something? i dont want to damage it.

Get a harmonic balancer puller and use the three bolt holes in the center of the flywheel. Tighten the center bolt really well and smack it a couple of good shots with a 3 pound fine adjustment tool. Try a bit of heat in the center--sometimes they will "pop" dramatically.

thats what im using - a harmonic balancer puller. it actually snapped one of the straps on the tool and cut grovves into the claw.

i dont know what the deal is. how much heat can i put on it? i dont want to melt anything under it.

so i just shot my flywheel 3 ft in the air. absolutely no clue why that thing was on so tight.
