Re: Fm165 Livewell Operation ?

I've only tried my once. It has two modes, manual and auto. The manual mode keeps the water circulating all the time and filling. The auto mode cycles the pump on and off. I would add a bit of vaseline to the o-rings on the drain plug. Other then that. you can aim the water spout at the top so that it hits the water. That's about it really.

Thx Tig,,,just got back from the Dealer with my Tilt/Trim Gauge not working.....they found the problem pretty quick, my 50 didn't have the Sensor installed at factory. He put one on & bingo, he got lucky because it was spot on in the Down position(no adjustment needed). I ask the tech to give me quick 101 on the Livewell, he opened it up & told me to get the black plug & put it in the bottom, I said what plug, yep, no plug anywhere so he gave me one. He said the same thing you just said, PRETTY EASY. Then he ask me where my screen was on the drain in the bottom of transom, yes, he walked back in to parts & screwed one on.

Don't you just love dealers? My original dealer where I bought my boat are *****holes lol. They gave me so much grief! Thankfully Lowe factory support has been excellent. I've also found another Lowe dealer close to me that has taken good care of me. Means the world. When you have good support, problems aren't so bad anymore.

I'm curious about your trim gauge. Is the needle basically pointing all the way down at the bottom when the motor is down? That is how mine is. In WOT, trimmed to ideal spot, the needle is point to about a 1/4 from the bottom. I imagine there is something on the sensor that only allows it to be mounted in one spot.

Yes, my needle is right on line(Down) when motor is max down,,,,I looked at the sensor, the holes are oblong so you can tweak the adjustment. He said he got lucky that it was spot on. I'll be looking at the needle position next time out to the lake when up on plane at WOT
