I have found a few different types of foam core here in Japan, But i am having a hard time finding one that i think is ideal for my boat.... Polyurethane i am told wont melt with poly resin but i am about to give up on trying to find a supplier in Okinawa- anyone got any suggestions?

I have found several light closed cell foams that i think might work but i am not to confident taht they are strong enough, (or that they are actually polyurethane as my japanese is very limited).

What i am leaning towards is "polyurethane sponge" that comes in fairly large sheets and i know will bond with the resin (did a test) but i am not sure how long it will last or if its a good idea

Help please...

Re: Foam core questions

I have several areas I need to do- the deck, pretty much the entire cabin and the cabin ceiling/bow deck. Some seats and such, I think wood is still a better choice for the ceiling/bow deck but I want to cut the weight where I can.
