Did you provide any type of drainage under the foam such as a length of PVC pipe or did you just foam and seal it?

If everything is Fiberglassed how can water get in?? Or out for that matter?

Re: Foam Question for JasonJ

All my foamed voids are sealed except for drain holes between the voids back at the transom, to drain into the center bilge, no PVC tubes. Nothing gets in, however. My center bilge void is open bow to stern, but I am considering foaming it as well, just for the sake of haveing more protection if I get holed in that area. At it stands, I have more than enough foam to keep it afloat if it ever gets swamped. I have seen the pvc tubes used to channel water from one open void, through a foamed void, to the aft bilge. It wouldn't have much value if the entire underfloor is one solid foamed unit.

Re: Foam Question for JasonJ

Thanks Jason, That was what I was wondering. I do not have a center bilge channel there is a stringer there instead. Wellcraft used 3 stringers in their construction so I was going to fill all the voids with foam but was wondering if I needed to worry about water. After thinking about it If the voids are filled with foam no water can get in.

Maybe I will resin in a piece of plastic drop cloth to act as a vapor barrier.

I would just seal everything as best you can, keep it out of the rain and snow as best you can, and try not to keep yourself awake at night, checking out the window to make sure the cover is still on the boat. Try not to walk down to the dock at 1:00 AM in a rain storm to check to make sure the cover you have on the boat isn't pooling up with water. Try not to compulsively sponge every little drop out. Oh wait, thats me. Never mind.... :D
