Fog using Primer solenoid Valve

Well I completed fogging my engine the traditional way by spraying fogger into each of the carbs. Then I found this two sentence blurb about using the primer solenoid when I was reviewing the manual for storage procedures today.

Storage Fogging Oil ? Connect the can to its fitting
on the primer solenoid. Following instructions
on the can, fog the engine. After you fog the engine
be sure the primer solenoid lever is in the run position.

So I looked, and what do you know there it is (I think it is in the run position ? )

Is this any better than spraying the carbs individually ?

Next year I'll have to give it a try. The manual didn't provide any other detail on the correct procedure. Can someone explain how to do it ? Also where do I get the tube to connect to it, My Johnson fogger came with a straw.

Once again thanks for the help.

If you remove the little gray cap on the end of the red lever you will see a schrader valve. You go to the dealer and by a can of fogging oil with a tube and fitting that will attach to the schrader valve and allow you to fog your engine.

Don't really think it maters too much either way as long as it gets fogged. Never done it that way myself and to date never had any issues.
Just my thoughts though

Yes, it is shown to be in the "run" position. Using that valve and a can of Bombardier fogging oil is a neat way to winterize. It's exp handy since you do not have to remove the airbox cover to fog the engine. Also works on the Bombardier engine tuner can. The special adapter hose is now sold separately, part number 763644

Do you take it out of run when you fog ?

You can fog it on a hose as long as your neighbors don't mind the smoke.

Naw they are all to busy getting their boats ready for the winter to get upset at the smoke:)

Do you turn the lever 90* to the manual position to do the fogging?

No, You leave the lever in the normal run position which is parallel with the solenoid.

I just did my Johnson 110 today. I used "CRC Engine Stor Fogging Oil". Comes with the hose adapter that screws onto the Schrader valve. This method is easy. One hand depressing the button on the can, the other hand adjusting the throttle to keep the engine running until it is saturated. Close all windows in the house first:lol:

I simply drill a small hole in front of the airbox, right in front of the carbs. Attach the fogging oil to a plastic "y" fitting, couple small hoses to the holes pushed in to the carb throught's stick it in the holes, spray away. No need to remove the airbox, or buy the pricer valve to hook up. If ya want, plug the 1/16" holes with whatever ya want. Never had an issue with the holes, they are not air filters anyway.

By using the valve on the side you get it in the engine in the correct manner.
This is a brilliant device to make life simpler, easier, and better.
once you have the pipe fitting your fine forever, plus like said above you can use it with engine tuner as well.
I have a 3 cylinder, much easier to just press the can once than have to mes around with 3 different holes.
and imagine the problem with a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder engine to fog it ?
by the time you get to number 3 most of the engine will be flushed out and not fogged enough.

just my thoughts on it.
