That actually depends on the engine For carbs, spray the fogging oil until it stalls
For TBI, spray fogging oil untill it stalls,
For MPI, cocktail mix into the fuel sep , run for 10 minutes.

to fog or not to fog is the question....thanks people i think i have my answer. im getting good at boat work...thanks to many of you. heck i drained my block the other day, then realized i need to top off with ethanol free and stabilzer....then run and DRAIN again...lol its fun 😔 once i replace the bellows,etc... i'll be ready for spring to figure out the random engine shutoff under load....since i didnt get my bonus(aka possible down payment for new boat) - try to get a few more seasons.

If it’s an MPI....defo don’t fog down the throttle body. It Plays havoc with sensors. Merc changed their procedure a while ago and now suggest a 2 stroke mix in the fuel and run it through before winter storage.
