Has anyone ever installed a nitrous oxide system on their boat? Seems like a good way to get some quick power.

Post pics of this project! ;) I always love a laugh! Actually, you may wanna put the results in the stupid human tricks forum! :D
J/K, but seriously, NOS isn't intended for marine applications. It isn't practical to have instantaneous power that only lasts a few seconds, unless you're trying to make a 4 banger water ski worthy. If you want power, do all the tricks people did before the age of performance chips, nos, onboard computers, 12" exhaust tips  , and $150 spark plug wires. Go for superchargers, ram-air, port-polished heads, cam swap, bore/stroke, you know, real horsepower! Converting to thru-hull exhaust would be a worthy investment if your pockets arent deep. Depending on your setup, it can make a difference. Plus, it gets rid of a weak link in the chain if you go further with the mods.

Seen it on a few inboard/V-drive drag boats... That's bout the only place you'd have a "need" for nos... Only gonna be good for the hole shot anyway..

Make your boat jump right out of the water like those carzy Japanese carps that have invaded our rivers and lakes :D

Have you guys seens these things? They jump right out of the water and into your boat as you're speeding by. Craziest **** thing I ever saw.

Somehow a 3.0 Mercruiser doesn't seem worth all the effort of a lot of hop-up stuff. Although I WAS wondering about a carb change and exhaust change. On the other hand maybe a change to a hot 4.3..... or trade for a true inboard V-8 boat or an outboard. Hey.. for only more than I paid for my whole rig I can get a new outboard.... motor.

depending on your boat, a v-8 would sink or over power it. Installing an outboard requires a bunch of transom reinforcement and an expensive bracket. You're on the right track with the 4.3, be careful to not exceed the HP limit for the hull, if you do, you will end up with handful of fiberglass toothpicks.
