Thanks for any input, I drained my block/manifolds/risers/ps cooler etc. following the manual. Now I want to add antifreeze, how do ya'll do it, dump it in the hoses, or suck it up through the outdrive? Merc 5.7 with Alpha MR drive. Thanks for any response.

I dump it through the water pump (circulating pump) hose until the block is full. Then I pour it into the manifold hoses util it pours uut of the exhaust.

Same here.
Don't use the muffs, besides, it does not take any longer to pull the hoses from the t-stat housing than it does to hook the muffs up, fill the bucket and run the engine and hope you get enough in there.

Sucking it up through the O/D is very risky and has lead me to issues come spring the 1st time I did it that way. Fiing from the highest port and closing off the lowest plug when full until it reaches the fill point is most definately the best way and has served me well for the last 10 plus yrs, Good luck

Thanks all, it really stinks getting this thing ready to go away for 6 months, so while I was waiting for your kind replies I just hung out in it in the driveway, waxed some stuff for no good reason. Maybe while I'm dumping AF down the hoses into block/manifold, I'll hang out in it again and dump some beer into my belly manifold. Thanks again.
