Yesterday started out quite interesting. Seems one of our fleet, good old V-9 decided to catch fire. Here are some photos of the truck behind the boiler room of one of our buildings. Danny the guy that was driving had just gotten out and went in to look at a problem and when he came out this is what he saw.

First two need no explaination. Last one is big Danny and some of our crew giving him a hard time for burning up the truck.

Now if it had been a Dodge it would still be runnin :p

One of the most authentic looking flames jobs I have ever seen. You can almost feel the heat from them. What painting technique did your friend use?

On a serious note, here is a site dealing with this.

http://www.flamingfords.info/affohome.html

I've owned nothing but Fords and Mercs for years but sometimes I wonder.

The happiest day of my life was when my POS new Chevy pickup caught fire.

Re: For all you ford fans

Been there, done it, several times. First one burned at 5 in the morning after siting all night. Got it put out before total, but burned all of drivers side, even thru windshield. Dealer said caused by Motorola radio installation. One hour before Motorola rep and I were to meet Ford rep at dealership to look at it, he called and said Ford had decided, out of the goodness of their heart, to repair it, even if it wasn't their fault. Burned July 2, got it back December 6.
When the next one caught fire while being driven, we decided it was caused by the hand held radio laying in the seat.
