Just replace the bolt and all. There is a rubber washer between the bolt and transom shield. The anode needs good contact to work properly, and only 1 thread won't be enough.

I got the anode off both sides of gimbal housing port side is ok starboard side threads were stripped all but one and half threads from boat. also the washer was sitting at an angle I can see rubber behind it and there is water present the transom seems to be solid. Does the washer come off or is it part off the bolt. Would it be possible to get washer off and fill with caulk put washer back on and fix threads good enough to screw anode back on.
