Cool. I'd love to see the 20 hp they talk about. It would be cool if you could just hook it up to the same size tank as a grill. You could boat to your destination, cook, and get back all using the same fuel.

Some of his claims make him sound like a snake oil salesman.

I'd really like to see some independent test data.

Compares prices in pounds vs gallons vs price. Why not compare btu's per dollar?

Propane 21,000 btu / pound gasoline 125,000 btu / gallon
Hmmm, propane is made from oil, at gas refineries.
Why isn't this info on their green website?

Would be real interesting to see how they run on less fuel.
And last longer.
And less maintenance.
And no winterizing, but their website says its a 4 stroke engine, and it does have a gearcase, right?

Their website is filled with pitches, but no information.

It may work just fine, But I'm not buying their claims and hype.

Some time ago we had Hurricane Irene cause lots of power outages. I started doing some research on generators. Generators come in gasoline and propane versions. When comparing them you find out that the fuel cost difference is very small. Propane is about the same as gasoline in cost/power. There is one advantage for a propane generator however. Consider that outages are usually rare. So the gasoline generator will be sitting around with gasoline in it from the last outage. Say the outages are a year apart for example, I can see the need to clean the carb everytime you have a new outage....not fun. Propane Generators should not have that issue.

In that case, I think the Propane generator is a better idea, as long as propane is available in your area, during the outage.

BTW- Natural gas is a whole lot cheaper/power that propane or gasoline. A LNG OB may be a good alternative.

For many years there have been lots of fork lifts and such running on propane.
I can attest to them being cleaner both for the air and the motor.
The oil still looks new long after time to change do to the oils eventual degrading.
Propane fork lifts were used indoors because of there low emisions.
I believe if properly setup power is about the same.
Yesterday I saw a 20# of propane for $16.(central NY)
I also remember when a 20# went for $2.

Price, size & weight of a propane tank for my Mercruiser 5.0 L V8 engine . That would give the same mileage as 38 gallons of gasoline ?


Those Propane tanks ARE HEAVY.
