Re: For those in California

He faired well because he doesn't hold extreme views left or right. He picked up a large number of "liberal voters"<br /><br />Californians are sick and tired of poli****ans spending our hard earned money on programs and projects that only benefit a few. Its going to be hard to make a lot of cuts because on mandated spending. <br /><br />Arnold has a lot of charisma. Its what got him this far. He wasn't exactly a great actor. Hopefully he'll be able to charm some sence into our assembly and senate<br /><br />Star power helped too.

If you don't like what you're watching change the program, that's what did in California. I think Arnold won because he's not a profressional liar oh sorry I meant politician. I liked Arnolds conservative views on fiscal issues and his the rest is middle of the road. He should be able to work with Dems and Reps to straighten out California.<br /><br /> :) Kevin

I would have voted for him too. I was glad to see the recent media and mud slinging against him didn't affect the end result.<br /><br />It'll be interesting to see what "The Govenator" can and will do for California. I find it refreshing myself.

Hasbeen, I agree our current gov ain't doing the job but the climate is poor for politicians all over right now. It was over fishing and dams that caused the fishing debacle which, because of conservation and programs to move fish past dams we may be recovering from. As for logging, I lived in Astoria when Weyerhauser had logged all it's properties, closed up shop, and moved. All the loggers for them lost their jobs in one day. They sold 58 log trucks at auction in one day. When the resource has all been logged the big companies are gone. As for the rest of the logs, the small mills can't compete with all the logs shipped away from Oregon without processing of any kind. It's thousands of logs being shipped overseas, not by liberals but by logging businesses. Finally, the rest of Oregonians are entitled to some use of the public forests as much as the loggers. Commercial fishing and logging are gone, get over it. Rightwingers are destroying the Republican form of government that we have existed with for over 200 years makes me want to move too but I'd rather stay and irritate them.
