I have a 1990 Force 120 Hp L-Drive that had the Stator go bad. I replaced the Stator and trigger assembly with one I found on a junk 1990 Force 120 Outboard. Everything seems to be working fine except for the voltage is reading over 15 volts at 2000 rpm and over 18 volts at full throttle. The boats votage meter(just replaced with a new one), and a test meter hooked up to the rectifier read the same voltages. I replaced the rectifier with one from the used outboard and still get the same results. The manual says that the system is unregulated and that it should produce 14- 14.5 volts. Before i replaced the stator that is what it was reading. It seems to be running fine but does seem to have some gremlins. am i huting anything if this is true output? The stator off of the outboard is unregulated also. I even looked up the part numbers and they are the same. Need some help, the wife said i can't pour any more money into the hole in the water!
