Hello again guys, Once again im in need of advice. Last weekend for the first time ever i got a chance to start my 92 120 force outboard. I first tried it with ear muffs and the overheat buzzer went off in less than 5 mins. I shut it off, let it cool down. Went to home depot, Got a huge bin, Filled it with water and ran it for 30 mins without a problem. Seems to be perfectly fine now but water still trickles out of the pee hole. How much water is really suppose to come out? Also now that i had it overheat, do i need to pull the lower unit off and check the impeller? It was just replaced and is brand new. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

it should be more than a trickle - mine kinda spits out, so does my dad's boat - they are both 125 versions from late 80's

I have a 1994 120 force outboard motor and my motor did the same thing last year. On the water it overheated and when I ran it in a bucket it did not.. I put a new water pump in it and have not had any problems with it. The repair place said there is more stress on the motor in the water than running in a bucket.
