Hello I have a 1990 force 120hp, model 1208x90b out board, I just lost the #4 cylinder during a 5 minute run @ about 5400 rpm. I think I just burnt the piston from over rev. But just wondering if I could have lost the cyl. because of water in the hole? I dont see any cracks in the block nor did the maching shop but I have been told these blocks are notorious for this. Also there is no sign of lean mix on the piston just the upper edge was broke and the rings were trash. Even after the piston let go I ran it for 14 miles back to the dock at 4800 rpm. Nothing is wash in that hole. Any thoughts might help thanks.
