Force 120 serial # gone- where else to look?

In order to figure out why my engine grinds when I turn the key (won’t start- does have new battery and new fuel lines), I need the year, serial number, etc. The number on the plate is washed off. Any ideas on where else I may find clues to figure this out?

IF?? the motor and boat came together as a package??
You can send the Hull ID# to who ever made the boat.
They should have that info.

To find the year? look on the starter, some have a year printed on the side.
Or under the coils and ignition pack on the side of the motor is a round foundry stamp.
The year should be in the center.

square fuel pump or round two stage fuel pump?

CD pack ignition or switchbox ignition?

main wiring harness connected to a terminal strip with screws, or are there plug in style bullet connectors on the wires?
