Force 120 Trim Issues

Hello People Smarter Than Me.

I am having an issue with my 90' Force 120 trim. The trim was faulty when I bought it, it wants to settle, so I figured it was the lift cylinder plunger oring leaking. Today I totally rebuilt all the trim cylinders and it does the same thing just not as bad, it now settles half way and stops. I found an aftermarket valve body on eBay and was wondering if it was worth a try to replace it, but its really expensive, or buy a rebuild kit like this and try to get away cheaper? Has anyone ever dealt with these or the like ebay parts? will this solve my bleed down problem. Is it something simpler that I'm missing like how to properly fill my trim pump? The model number is 1201F90B. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome.
Your problem is probably the hyd pump.
You motor comes in 2 parts.
The top is the electric motor.
Then the bottom is the resivoir and hyd pump.
You can try to mess with it and mess with it.
But your gonna need a new pump.
RRitt on here(look for his posts) or on E-bay repairs/sells them.
You can find the cheap aftermarket and will probably need new one in a few years.
The ones RRitt will last longer.

There is a leakdown test in the manual.Try this.

that is the same valve body sold by other vendors for $80. In fact, your link to a "kit" is actually a whole valve body.

and, no, it isn't worth the $80 on your motor. about 30% of that product has minor issues when new ranging from slow drips to bleed down, about 10% is just plain DOA, and about 0% will stand the test of time. If you want to get into the habit of replacing your trim pump every season or two then it will work fine. Otherwise, your 120HP is too big and you should rebuild the original using correctly sized, industrial gade orings.

RRitt is the man when it comes to T&T. I say send it over to him for rebuild and rest assured you can enjoy decades of problem free T&T system.

Otherwise, your 120HP is too big and you should rebuild the original using correctly sized, industrial gade orings.

Is there a rebuild kit for this pump or can I just get the seals out and bring them to my local hydraulic guy and get the seals there? too many small variations from year to year. they add up and a universal rebuild kit with universal instructions ends up costing too much in wasted parts and support time. In order to cover printed instructions and support costs the kit would sell for more than a repair.
