Hello, I have a 1984 Bayliner 1910 with a Force 125. Newer battery, new starter. Boat starts and runs fine, but then every so often, it won't start and the trim stops working altogether. If I take the wires off of either the negative or positive battery post, it seems to "reset" and will start again eventually after some time, usually about five minutes. The battery is good, just had it tested. The alternator on the motor is also good and charges the battery. Last Saturday I took it out in Lake Huron. Turned it off and restarted it about 5-6 times while fishing. Then, it just cut out and wouldn't start (not at a good time either). Took the wires off the positive terminal twice, and eventually it started. My current thoughts are to replace the two main wires going from the battery back to the terminal block in the back in case there might be erosion on those. It seems like a voltage or wiring issue, and not a major issue, but I have zero confidence in this boat right now, so any feedback would be appreciated.

What year force/ chrysler motor is it?
When was it serviced last?

You probably need to beg, borrow or otherwise acquire a OEM service manual as it sounds like you have multiple issues.

Turning the motor off and on again dosen't work on older motors.
