The engine will not run. It kicks over but will not continue to run. I took a timing light to each spark plug wire and found #1 was firing at #3 and #2 was firing at #4. Cylinders #3, #4, #5 were firing at the right time. I looked at the wiring and it looks reasonable (the ignition pack and stator wires from 1 & 2 are independent from 3 & 4).
Background: Last fall I think I crossed the battery connections (- to + and + to -) and cranked the motor over several times. One of the ignition pack started leaking oil. I replaced it and it was still not working. I took it to a mechanic and the mechanic said the stator and the other two ignition packs were bad so they were replaced. Now all 5 cylinders give a spark but the engine will not run. Another mechanic suggested that the trigger was bad so I replaced it. I bench tested the trigger and both the old and replacement trigger impedance where consistent across all trigger pairs. The stator was new from CDI the other parts were used.
