hey I know this topic has probably been beaten to death but I need to know where to find pistons for a 1990 Force 150 Model: 1508x90D. It appears that the piston changed sizes in 1990 sometime and I need to know where to get them and what size piston that this particular force uses. I know that people on here really know there outboards so any help would be greatly appreciated also the rings would be nice as well thanks in advance.

Re: Force 150 pistons

Up to 1990 the stock cylinder bore was 3.3125. From 91 on the cylinder bore was 3.375. Wiseco sells pistons for either model and they come complete with rings and wrist pins. Wisco pistons use a special ring so you can not just buy rings from them to use with a stock piston.

If you remove the head and measure the cylinder bore, 3.3125 is 3 5/16 while 3.375 is 3 3/8. If you do not want to remove the head: If the carbs are WB carbs, the engine is the small bore. If the carbs are TC carbs, the engine is the big bore. WB carbs will have two 1/4-20 tapped holes in the front for mounting air-boxes while TC carbs will have three tapped holes.

Re: Force 150 pistons

Well I have measured the bores to be 3.375 and it is a 1990 so I would assume that the model being a 90D is the reason that is has the TC carbs as well as the bigger bore like the 1991. So with that said would this kit fit this model even though the year of my engine is not listed work? Also where can I find rings for the factory pistons that I am not replacing?
