The other day I posted a thread about my 90' force 150 being sluggish and missing. I was told to check for spark, compression, and decarb the motor. I already had the carbs rebuilt. I think Ive found the problem. after I decarbed the motor I was checking for spark and the 1,2, and 4 plug wires shocked me. I guess the boots must be bad. Could this be my "miss"? And what are the blue boxes that the wires go in to? Do I need to change them, or just the wires?

You shouldn't pull wires to check spark as it can damage the ignition, not to mention light up your tie.You should get a spark tester, follow the directions for testing for proper spark. You should replace the wires.
Most plug wires can be replaced.I can't speak directly for the Force.
I believe it is solid core wire(metallic center)There are kits available here at iboats among other places.18-5225
