In order to make the correct choice, you need to know what your RPM's are when at WOT, and use that as a guideline.

currently only 4200 rpms and 22 knots, which is another reason why I want to change the prop

Currently I have a 21 foot cuddy cabin with a 150 on it. I have a 13 X 19 vented stainless prop. This engine and prop came off a big bass boat. The prop was vented for best hole shot. I just left it on the engine and it worked well--no need to change. Currently the tach is not working but as I remember, it did get up above 5000 RPM. Speed varied between 40 and 43 MPH.

At 4200 and 22 MPH check compression before you change the prop. You need to know the engine is healthy enough to give more speed. After compression, check fuel delivery and spark. Be certain it is running on all cylinders and BOTH fuel pumps are fully functioning.

I did that, compression is good, spark is good, set timing, rebuilt carbs and fuel pumps and adjusted air/fuel. still have the same issue, feel like I should have more power, which is why I'm leaning towards a prop....

In case you didn't notice, there is a whole forum here on iboats.com dedicated to Prop questions.

If you are running a 21 pitch trying going down to a 17. If 19 go down to a 15. You need to drop about 4 inches in pitch. O would think you should be at least 32-35 knots. You want your rpm to be at least 5000.
