Force 150 stator wiring

I've been trying to figure out why I don't have spark on my second cylinder and the other day I noticed the way my stator is wired to the CD modules is different then what my manual says. Each wire has a tag with a number and Brown/Blue is labeled and wired as number 2 and Brown/yellow is labeled as 1. Anyone have any idea why this would be that way? It's an 89 Force 150.
