Force 150 tilt and trim question

Will a 1989 150 tilt and trim (plus the stern brackets) fit an 85 horse force?

I know some of the parts are shared with the 85+ not sure if this is one of them.

Yes.
It will work if they look the same(transom brackets).
Newer 94 has some Mercury brackets.

As a whole system everything 85HP and up fits everything else 85HP and up before 1992. After 1992 you have to look at pump mounting. Some systems had shorter tubing and the pumps mounted at a lower level on transom. These somewhat uncommon systems used a different transom bracket and do not fit any other engines. Look to see if bottom of pump is lower than bottom of trim housing. If it is then system won't fit a typical engine.
