Ok so i resealed the lower unit and changed the impellar with relatively good sucess. However, since i had a shift linkage screw issue, i wanted to bump the motor in gear to make sure it worked correctly. I did this on muffs and it went into gear but there was slight gear noise from the lower unit just as it shifted. Any idea what this could be or is it normal for something that is not under load? Thanks

Force lower units are made to be shifted into gear quickly from neutral position to forward or reverse idle speed, not eased into gear, which is hard on the lower unit on these engines.:)

Thats what my gut was saying becuase i really did ease it into gear. Normally i just ram it home so to speak. So what your saying is it should be fine and i have nothing to worry about. YAY, if anyone else thinks of something please chime in. THanks

I get (a little) noise from my 1989 125 when shifting on muffs.
