My up tilt/trim is intermittant. I checked the relay by applying power to the coil and checked the continuity of the energized contacts, and it's fine. I can hear the relay clicking when I press the up button. Any help will be appreciated. I thought about swapping the two relays to see if the down would be intermittant. I also switched the green and blue wire and pressed the down button and the tilt works great. I'm confused.

Swap the relays and see if the problem follows the relay.

If it is only doing it in the one direction. It is most likely the relay or a corroded wire for that direction.

TMD

Also, be sure to check your ground. On my 150, at least, it is one of the three wires coming from the tilt motor, and it is secured against a solid bracket that holds the rectifier and the solenoids in place. It took me a while to trace my own problem to this source: I spent a good while tracing contacts back from the starter solenoid--in other words, the hot (red) source, back to the tilt solenoids, where everything was OK, before I realized the only other thing shared by both tilt solenoids was the ground!!!

Good Luck!
Gil
