My motor will not start sometimes if the electric trim is in a lower position. If you raise the motor up with the electric trim the motor will start. It's not in gear and the battery and connections are good. The times it will not start you can push and hear the choke clicking, but it will not start unless the trim is up.

Thanks for any help

craig

CraigB, When you say the motor won't start unless trimmed up do you mean it won't start or won't turn over at all?

If it won't even crank or turn over, you may have a short in the wiring, that makes contact when the engine is raised.

If it turns over, but will not fire, you may have fuel/carb/fuel line problem.

Please post more details.

I dont know if the neutral safety switch is on the motor or the controls but check it and the connector on the motor. Try moving the wires
around instead of tipping the motor.
