I posted earlier today about my 1989 Force 50 model 507L9B. I pulled the head and the gasket was fine. #2 piston was very sloppy but the cylinder was not scored. I found a 1988 Force 50 model 507X8C nearby. The 88 is running but the lower end cavatation plate is beaten up. Does anyone know if the parts on the two models are interchangeable? I would like to take the running 88 and strap on the lower unit from my 89 and get on the water in a day or two. Then as time permits I will deal with the sloppy piston on the 89. Any thoughts or advice--besides "get rid of the Force"? Don't have the cash for a new motor so I'm gonna have to deal with what I have for the time being.
Thanks for your insights.

Everything will fit. They should be identical except for the block..
The bore of the block may be different.

Don't get ride of the Force!!

The bore's the same.
Very easy swap.
There are 2 mounting bolts that can be hard to take off.

But if the cavitation plate isn't that bad just swap motors.
That's a couple of hours and way easier

My information about the Force 50Hp bore is.

1984-87 A model 3,187 in
1987-89 B model 3,312 in
1990-95 3,375 in.

Soo it might be different if the modelnumber is uncertain

From the model #s he posted the bore's the same.
The big differences in model changes is usually something small like connectors even a tie wrap can cause a model change.
