Force 50 no water thru pee hole

Early 90's force 50. Was running 'hot'. Changed thermostat & impeller. Went right back together. Now nothing coming out of pee hole, though otherwise running fine. As an I/O guy, what am i looking for on this O/B that i coulda screwed up?

Make sure water tube and top of water pump slid together correctly.

As roscoe suggested.
Was the impeller in pieces or?
If......look for pieces of the impeller in the watertube and powerhead.
Pull off the LU and connect a gardenhose to the watertube. Check if water circulate and look for water through the peehole.
