Force 50 Removing the flywheel

Im trying to remove the flywheel on my 88 force 50 to pull the power head and replace the exhaust gasket. I go the nut off the shaft and am using a bolt puller but it just doesn't want to budge. The center bolt is as tight as it can possibly go and i have even given it some lube and some good whacks with a hammer but not loosening. Wondering if there is any other nut or bolt to loosen or remove other than the big one on top, or any tricks or advice?? Thanks

Please attach a pic or link of your ?bolt puller?. I feel you are referring to a harmonic balance puller, pulling with 3 bolts or a gear puller, 3 claws pulling from the f/w outside dia. Either way some can be monsters and need to sit hrs with a tight pull and penetrating oil on them and mild heat around the f/w to ? One Big Center Nut and Only Nut? connection helps. I hope it has popped off by now w/o hitting you. ?Be Careful? with a towel or Etc over the Monster (to deflect any flying parts). Good Luck With Patience!

This is the bolt puller im using, three 1/4 bolts and one large bolt in the middle to tighten down and pull up. I sprayed lots of lube and have been letting it sit checking it periodicity to see if it will tighten any more. I think i will do that throughout the day and try applying heat tomorrow if I still cant get it. Is there a good way to stop the f/w from turning as i crank down on the bolt?

That harmonic balance puller should get the job done. Check the recent link below, ?Boom!?, it address holding the flywheel while torquing. IMO, a large screwdriver or bar should give you enough resistance at the puller. An impact is the tool, a strap wrench is ideal but you will have to get creative w/o breaking or bending something. You will see it is not uncommon for the ?? bolts to strip and you?ll have to tap 5/16 threads for the next size bolts. We?ll have to get the opinion of just re-tapping one if that is all needed w/n affect balancing. This North TX 100 + degree weather must help me because I have never had a problem. A little heat might be the trick before breaking any bolts.

Regardless to the trouble, torque it back on to specs or you will probably shear your key. Good Lock!
